Step-by-Step Instructions for Honey Fried Shrimp
  1. In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine honey, hot sauce, unsalted butter, apple cider vinegar, and red pepper flakes. Stir gently until the mixture is smooth and the butter is completely melted, about 3–5 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
  2. Thoroughly rinse the shrimp under cold running water and pat dry with paper towels.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the coating ingredients until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and mix in the milk.
  5. Fill a deep pan with vegetable oil, about 2 inches deep, and heat to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Dredge each shrimp in the seasoned flour, then dip into the egg wash, and return to the flour for a second coating.
  7. Fry the shrimp in batches for about 2–3 minutes, flipping halfway through until golden brown.
  8. Place the fried shrimp in a large bowl and pour the hot honey sauce over them, tossing to coat.
  9. Serve immediately, garnished with extra red pepper flakes if desired.
