- Gather all ingredients: all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, salt, instant yeast, warm milk, unsalted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract.
- In a small bowl, combine warm milk, instant yeast, and sugar; allow to sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat together eggs, melted butter, and vanilla; blend in the frothy yeast mixture.
- Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring until a shaggy dough forms; knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled.
- Punch down the dough, divide it into 12 portions, roll into strips, and coil into spirals; place in greased molds.
- Let the shaped dough rise for 30-45 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and hollow when tapped.
- Cool for 10 minutes in molds, then transfer to a rack.
- Brush with melted butter, sprinkle with cheese and sugar, and enjoy!
