  • 10 ounces Regular Marshmallows Pink or white marshmallows can be used.
  • 6 cups Rice Bubbles (Krispies) No substitutions necessary.
  • 1 pinch Salt Optional if using salted butter.
  • 1 teaspoon Red Food Colouring Adjust for intensity or omit.

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Prepare Bain-Marie by boiling water in a small pot and placing a heatproof bowl over it.
  2. Add unsalted butter and marshmallows to the bowl, whisk for 2-4 minutes until smooth.
  3. Stir in a pinch of salt and then add the red food coloring until desired hue is achieved.
  4. Combine Rice Bubbles in a large bowl and pour the warm marshmallow mixture over them.
  5. Shape the mixture into oval shapes resembling brains and create a dent in each.
  6. Decorate with veins using a toothpick dipped in red food coloring.
  7. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 7 days.
