Ingredients

For the Sorbet Base
  • 1 cup Fresh Lime Juice Freshly squeezed for optimum flavor
  • 3/4 cup Granulated Sugar Use to create the simple syrup
  • 1 cup Water To dissolve sugar for syrup
  • 1 tablespoon Lime Zest Enhances lime flavor
  • 1/4 cup Light Corn Syrup Optional for smoother texture

Equipment

  • Saucepan
  • freezer-safe container
  • Fork

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a medium-sized saucepan, combine equal parts water and granulated sugar. Heat over medium, stirring frequently for about 3–4 minutes or until the sugar is fully dissolved, creating a clear syrup. Once ready, remove from heat and allow it to cool to room temperature.
  2. Once the syrup is cool, add freshly squeezed lime juice and lime zest into the saucepan. If using light corn syrup, mix it in at this stage. Stir everything together thoroughly until well combined.
  3. Pour the lime mixture into a shallow, freezer-safe container and smooth out the mixture. Place the container in the freezer, ensuring it's level.
  4. After about 30 minutes, take the container out of the freezer and stir the mixture with a fork. Return it to the freezer and repeat the stirring every 30 minutes for a total of about 3–4 hours.
  5. When the sorbet has reached a light and airy texture, scoop it into bowls or glasses for serving and enjoy your homemade Lime Sorbet.
