Ingredients

For the Tea Base
  • 2 tablespoons Dried Culinary Lavender Provides the distinct floral aroma and flavor; avoid using essential oils for a balanced taste.
  • 2 tablespoons Black Tea Leaves Introduces depth and tannins; can be substituted with rooibos for a caffeine-free version.
  • 4 cups Water Acts as the brewing medium; using coconut water can add a nutrient boost.
For Sweetening
  • 2-3 tablespoons Honey or Agave Syrup Adds sweetness; dissolves better when the tea is warm. Substitute monk fruit sweetener for a sugar-free version.
For Serving
  • Ice Cubes Chills the beverage for immediate enjoyment.
  • Lemon Slices & Fresh Lavender Sprigs Optional for garnish; enhance presentation and flavor.

Equipment

  • 1-quart heatproof pitcher
  • Thermometer
  • infuser

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Sterilize a 1-quart heatproof pitcher by rinsing it with hot water for a couple of minutes.
  2. Layer dried culinary lavender at the bottom of your infuser, followed by black tea leaves.
  3. Heat 4 cups of water to a temperature between 195–205°F. Pour the boiling water over the tea and lavender mixture in the infuser and cover the pitcher.
  4. After 10 minutes, carefully remove the infuser without squeezing it to prevent bitterness.
  5. While the tea is warm, stir in 2-3 tablespoons of honey or agave syrup until fully combined.
  6. Allow the tea to cool to room temperature, approximately 20 minutes. Then refrigerate for 75 minutes or create an ice bath.
  7. Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the chilled Lavender Iced Tea over them. Garnish with lemon slices and fresh lavender sprigs.
