Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the puff pastry onto the prepared baking sheet, pressing it to fit and keeping edges thicker.
  3. Slice the apples thinly and distribute them evenly over the puff pastry, leaving space at the edges.
  4. Grate and sprinkle the white cheddar cheese evenly over the apple slices.
  5. Sprinkle fresh thyme leaves over the cheese and apples to enhance the flavor.
  6. Fold the edges of the pastry inwards to create a border and press lightly to seal.
  7. Brush the edges with the egg wash if using.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
