  • 1 pound Ground Hot Sausage substitute with mild sausage if preferred
  • 8 ounces Velveeta can swap with cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce can use soy sauce as alternative
  • 1 teaspoon Oregano optional, can use Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Salt or use minced garlic for stronger flavor
  • 1 teaspoon Salt adjust according to dietary needs
For the Base
  • 1 loaf Party Rye Bread or use pumpernickel or small baguettes
For Garnishing
  • 2 tablespoons Chopped Parsley can substitute with chives

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, combine the ground beef and ground hot sausage. Cook for approximately 10–12 minutes until fully browned.
  2. Cut Velveeta cheese into small cubes and set aside for even melting.
  3. Once the meat is browned, drain excess grease, lower heat, and add Velveeta cheese cubes. Stir until cheese melts. Mix in Worcestershire sauce, oregano, garlic salt, and salt.
  4. Preheat your broiler to high and line a baking sheet with party rye bread.
  5. Scoop about 2 tablespoons of the melted cheese and meat mixture onto each slice of rye bread.
  6. Broil assembled appetizers for 2–3 minutes until hot and bubbly, or bake at 350°F for 15–18 minutes.
  7. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with chopped parsley if desired. Serve warm.
