Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare three 12-count mini muffin pans by greasing them.
  2. Combine the Devil's Food Cake Mix, large eggs, canola or vegetable oil, and black food coloring in a mixing bowl. Mix until smooth.
  3. Scoop out 1/2 tablespoon of dough and drop it into each muffin cup, flattening slightly.
  4. Bake for 8-10 minutes until edges are set and centers remain soft.
  5. Remove from the oven and press an indentation into the center of each cookie cup with the back of a teaspoon.
  6. Allow to cool completely in the pan before removing.
  7. Make the buttercream by beating together the unsalted butter, sifted powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth. Gradually add milk until desired piping consistency is reached.
  8. Transfer the buttercream into a piping bag and pipe into each cooled cookie cup.
  9. Decorate your cookies with Halloween sprinkles, candy eyeballs, and pretzel sticks.
