- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare three 12-count mini muffin pans by greasing them.
- Combine the Devil's Food Cake Mix, large eggs, canola or vegetable oil, and black food coloring in a mixing bowl. Mix until smooth.
- Scoop out 1/2 tablespoon of dough and drop it into each muffin cup, flattening slightly.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes until edges are set and centers remain soft.
- Remove from the oven and press an indentation into the center of each cookie cup with the back of a teaspoon.
- Allow to cool completely in the pan before removing.
- Make the buttercream by beating together the unsalted butter, sifted powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth. Gradually add milk until desired piping consistency is reached.
- Transfer the buttercream into a piping bag and pipe into each cooled cookie cup.
- Decorate your cookies with Halloween sprinkles, candy eyeballs, and pretzel sticks.
