Step-by-Step Instructions for Pomegranate Mousse Domes
  1. Start by measuring all your ingredients, including pomegranate juice, sugar, lemon juice, gelatin powder, cold water, heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Make sure to have a saucepan, a chilled mixing bowl, and silicone dome molds ready.
  2. In a saucepan over low heat, combine the pomegranate juice, sugar, and lemon juice. Stir gently until the sugar has dissolved, about 3-5 minutes. Remove from heat.
  3. Sprinkle the gelatin powder over the cold water in a bowl and let it bloom for about 5 minutes. Stir the gelatin into the warm pomegranate mixture until dissolved.
  4. Whip the heavy cream in a chilled mixing bowl with an electric mixer on medium-high speed until soft peaks form, about 2-3 minutes. Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, beating until stiff peaks form.
  5. Once the pomegranate mixture has cooled to room temperature, gently fold it into the whipped cream using a rubber spatula.
  6. Lightly grease silicone dome molds. Spoon the mousse mixture into each mold until three-quarters full. Tap molds gently on the counter to release air bubbles.
  7. Cover the molds with plastic wrap and place them in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours until set.
  8. Carefully unmold the mousse domes by pressing the base of the silicone molds. Place them on a serving platter.
  9. Sprinkle each dome with pomegranate seeds and optional chocolate shards or silver flakes. Serve chilled.
