Step-by-Step Instructions for Pomegranate Mousse Domes
- Start by measuring all your ingredients, including pomegranate juice, sugar, lemon juice, gelatin powder, cold water, heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Make sure to have a saucepan, a chilled mixing bowl, and silicone dome molds ready.
- In a saucepan over low heat, combine the pomegranate juice, sugar, and lemon juice. Stir gently until the sugar has dissolved, about 3-5 minutes. Remove from heat.
- Sprinkle the gelatin powder over the cold water in a bowl and let it bloom for about 5 minutes. Stir the gelatin into the warm pomegranate mixture until dissolved.
- Whip the heavy cream in a chilled mixing bowl with an electric mixer on medium-high speed until soft peaks form, about 2-3 minutes. Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, beating until stiff peaks form.
- Once the pomegranate mixture has cooled to room temperature, gently fold it into the whipped cream using a rubber spatula.
- Lightly grease silicone dome molds. Spoon the mousse mixture into each mold until three-quarters full. Tap molds gently on the counter to release air bubbles.
- Cover the molds with plastic wrap and place them in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours until set.
- Carefully unmold the mousse domes by pressing the base of the silicone molds. Place them on a serving platter.
- Sprinkle each dome with pomegranate seeds and optional chocolate shards or silver flakes. Serve chilled.
