Ingredients

For the Creamy Base
  • 2 cups Whole Milk Can use 2% milk for a lighter version.
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream Do not substitute with low-fat cream.
  • 1/2 cup Granulated Sugar Can use alternative sweeteners like honey.
  • 3 sheets Gelatin Sheets 1 sheet = 1 tsp powdered gelatin.
For the Flavor
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract Use pure vanilla extract for best results.
  • 2 tbsp Loose Leaf Earl Grey Tea High-quality loose leaf is recommended.

Equipment

  • Medium Saucepan
  • Fine Sieve
  • ramekins or silicone molds
  • small bowl

Method

Preparation Steps
  1. Begin by lightly greasing the inside of your molds with a small amount of vegetable oil.
  2. Fill a small bowl with cold water and submerge the gelatin sheets, allowing them to soak for about 5-10 minutes.
  3. In a medium saucepan, combine the whole milk, heavy cream, and granulated sugar. Heat over medium heat until it reaches a gentle simmer.
  4. Once your cream mixture is simmering, remove it from heat and add the softened gelatin sheets, stirring until fully dissolved.
  5. Add the vanilla extract and loose leaf Earl Grey tea to the warm mixture and allow it to steep for 10-15 minutes.
  6. Carefully pour the mixture through a fine sieve into the prepared molds.
  7. Cover the molds loosely with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  8. When ready to serve, briefly dip the molds in hot water to loosen the panna cotta, then carefully invert onto serving plates.
