Step-by-Step Instructions
- Measure out ¾ cup of olive oil, 5 tablespoons of shea butter, and 2 tablespoons of beeswax. Place these ingredients into a heat-safe pitcher.
- Create a double boiler by filling a saucepan with water and bringing it to a gentle simmer. Place the heat-safe pitcher in the saucepan, allowing the steam to gently heat and melt the ingredients for about 10–15 minutes.
- Once melted, carefully remove the pitcher from heat and transfer the warm mixture into a food processor. Blend the mixture on medium speed for about 1 minute.
- While the processor is running, slowly pour in 1 cup of magnesium chloride brine. Continue blending for an additional minute.
- If using essential oils, sprinkle in your selected oils while blending. Blend for another minute to fully integrate.
- Carefully pour the finished lotion into clean glass jars and allow them to cool completely at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
- Once cooled, securely seal each jar with a lid and store in a cool, dark place.
