Step-by-Step Instructions for Pear Vanilla Butter
- Combine about 4 cups of peeled and diced ripe pears, sugar, a split and scraped vanilla bean (or pure vanilla extract), lemon juice, and ground cinnamon in a large pot. Add ¼ cup of water and stir everything together.
- Place the pot over medium-low heat and allow the mixture to gently simmer for 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally until the pears soften.
- Remove the vanilla bean pod if used and blend the mixture until smooth using an immersion blender.
- Return the smooth mixture to the pot and cook over low heat for an additional 20-30 minutes until it thickens to a buttery consistency.
- Let the Pear Vanilla Butter cool slightly, then transfer it to clean jars for storage.
