Brownie Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare an 8x8 baking pan lined with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
- In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until smooth. Combine with the dry ingredients.
- Set aside 1/4 cup of the brownie batter for swirling later, then pour the rest into the prepared pan.
- Beat the cream cheese until smooth, then add sugar, egg, and vanilla extract before mixing in orange food coloring.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture over the brownie layer, then drop spoonfuls of the reserved brownie batter on top.
- Use a knife to swirl the two layers together to create a marbled effect.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until the center is set and a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
- Cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before lifting out and slicing into squares.

Notes
For a lighter version, reduce the sugar in both layers. Ensure room temperature ingredients for a smooth batter.
