Ingredients
  

For the Dough
  • 1 cup plain flour all-purpose flour works best
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter plus 1 tablespoon for richness
  • 1 teaspoon salt enhances flavor
  • 2 tablespoons sugar feel free to reduce for less sweetness
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence adds flavor
  • 1 large egg room temperature
For the Coating
  • 1 cup white sugar for coating
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon powder adjust to taste

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of water, 1/3 cup + 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 2 tablespoons of sugar. Heat over medium-high until boiling.
  2. Once boiling, gradually add 1 cup of plain flour and mix until it forms a smooth ball.
  3. Remove from heat and allow to cool for 4-5 minutes.
  4. Add 1 large egg and 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence. Blend until smooth.
  5. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and spray the basket with non-stick cooking spray.
  6. Transfer dough to a piping bag and pipe small pieces into the fryer basket.
  7. Lightly brush the churros with melted butter and air fry for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Mix 1 cup of sugar and 1 tablespoon of cinnamon in a bowl and toss churro bites in the mixture.
