Preparation Steps
- In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of water, 1/3 cup + 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 2 tablespoons of sugar. Heat over medium-high until boiling.
- Once boiling, gradually add 1 cup of plain flour and mix until it forms a smooth ball.
- Remove from heat and allow to cool for 4-5 minutes.
- Add 1 large egg and 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence. Blend until smooth.
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and spray the basket with non-stick cooking spray.
- Transfer dough to a piping bag and pipe small pieces into the fryer basket.
- Lightly brush the churros with melted butter and air fry for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
- Mix 1 cup of sugar and 1 tablespoon of cinnamon in a bowl and toss churro bites in the mixture.
