Ingredients

For the Filling
  • 1 package Oreos Rich and sweet; substitute with any chocolate sandwich cookie if desired.
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese At room temperature for smooth mixing.
  • 2 cups Pretzels Crunchy and salty; gluten-free if needed.
For the Coating
  • 12 oz Candy Coating (Ghirardelli Melting Wafers) Choose dark, milk, or white chocolate based on preference.
  • 1 cup Homemade Salted Caramel For gooey center; store-bought works if short on time.
For the Topping
  • 1 cup Crushed Pretzels Optional but recommended for extra crunch.

Equipment

  • food processor
  • Mixing bowl
  • Hand Mixer
  • parchment-lined baking sheet
  • microwave-safe bowl

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Crush the Oreos by placing them in a food processor and pulse until fine crumbs form. Transfer to a mixing bowl.
  2. Crush pretzels in the same food processor until finely chopped, then mix with crushed Oreos.
  3. Add room temperature cream cheese to the bowl and blend with a mixer until a cohesive dough forms.
  4. Scoop and roll the mixture into balls, then flatten slightly to form disks about 1 inch thick.
  5. Add a small amount of salted caramel to the center of each disk, seal edges by folding them over the caramel, and re-shape into balls.
  6. Freeze the balls on a parchment-lined baking sheet for about 1 hour until firm.
  7. Melt the candy coating according to package instructions until smooth.
  8. Dip each frozen ball in the candy coating until fully covered, then place back onto parchment-lined sheet.
  9. Drizzle warm salted caramel over each ball and sprinkle crushed pretzels on top.
  10. Refrigerate for 30 minutes before serving to allow coating to set completely.
