For the Chips
  • 2 large Sweet Potatoes Select firm, blemish-free potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil Can substitute with avocado oil
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika Regular paprika can be substituted
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder Fresh garlic can be used but may alter cooking times
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder Use shallots or fresh onions for variation
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper Optional for a spicy kick
  • 1 teaspoon Salt Adjust to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper Adjust to taste
  • 2 sprigs Fresh Rosemary Optional garnish

Equipment

  • Air Fryer
  • Mandoline slicer
  • Mixing bowl

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Wash and peel the sweet potatoes, removing any blemishes. Slice into 1/8-inch thick rounds using a mandoline slicer or sharp knife.
  2. Soak the sweet potato slices in cold water for 30 minutes to remove excess starch, then drain and pat dry.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the sweet potato slices with olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Toss until evenly coated.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (190°C). Arrange the sweet potato slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  5. Air fry for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through. Shake the basket occasionally to ensure even cooking.
  6. Remove the chips and let them cool on a wire rack. Season further with salt if desired, and serve immediately.
  7. Store leftovers in an airtight container. Reheat in the air fryer for 3-5 minutes to restore crispiness.
