- Fill a large pot with salted water and bring it to a boil. Add macaroni and cook for 7-8 minutes until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute until golden brown.
- Pour in milk while whisking continuously. Cook for 4-5 minutes until sauce thickens. Stir in cheddar cheese until melted.
- Add macaroni to cheese sauce, folding until coated evenly.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish and transfer mac and cheese mixture.
- Sprinkle breadcrumbs over the top, then bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
